I confess. I stockpile music in order to create regular posts. This particular tune was found in my pile of Internet favorites so I though I’d finally let it go and be free. Before you start complaining that this isn’t ‘indie’, it is. Don’t you feel silly? Minecraft is an independent sandbox game and the artist, C418, is an independent artist. Therefore, this track has earned a very special place on this blog. Personally, I think the whole Minecraft soundtrack is excellent ambient backing for any situation!

I had a slightly religious experience listening to this song, no biggie. The lyrical content combined with the powerful rise and fall of organ chords makes this song an absolute gem. The song starts off so vulnerable and builds to a crescendo of realization. Seriously, it’s that good.

Normally I try and avoid putting ‘mainstream’ tunes up on this blog, for obvious reasons. I also try to avoid posting songs that aren’t my cup of tea. This is a very special case. Normally, Timberlake’s ‘Suit and Tie’ is not my favorite song. However, with a nice injection of Daft Punk, most things musical are greatly enhanced. Highlighting the chill and jazzy tones JT embraces, the edition of everyone’s favorite French electronic duo changes ‘Suit and Tie’ from a ordinary pop chart song to a funky dance hit.

Today sucked. Really, it did. Between a difficult midterm and a break-up happening with 4 hours of each other, I don’t know how it could get much worse. Anything I say about my absence will be nothing but trivial excuses involving the business of midterm season. However, I hope I can make it with a killer track as remixed by KatKrazy. Seriously, this guy’s remixes are fantastic and would make the music gods cry due to their beauty. My personal favorite of all his remixes is ‘Homerun’ by Misha B, an already great song turned exceptional.
